Research Associate – Gene Therapy

Poseida Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a talented and self-motivated research associate to join our Gene Therapy team at our La Jolla, San Diego, CA location. The position offers excellent opportunities for a highly motivated individual to develop new gene editing and gene therapy products in an exciting and dynamic environment focused on cutting-edge technologies. Primarily, the role will:

  • Further develop our gene editing and gene therapy platform technologies, including Cas-CLOVERTM, piggyBacTM and Footprint-FreeTM Gene Editing systems
  • Perform experiments related to platform technology development
  • Analyze data and report to multidisciplinary groups
  • Assist new products development
  • Keep current on trends, new products and technologies in the gene therapy and gene editing fields

Poseida Therapeutics is translating best-in-class gene engineering technologies into lifesaving cell therapies. Qualifications
Required Experience and Skills:

  • MS or equivalent in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or related field and 2+ years of experience in the field, ideally in industry
  • Expertise with a range of molecular biology and cell biology techniques, such as PCR, molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture and transfection, electroporation, and DNA/RNA and protein preparation, DNA sequencing, NGS, Western blotting, fluorescence imaging; experience with qPCR is a plus
  • Preferred experience with flow cytometry and immune-staining (IHC/IFC)
  • Demonstrated expertise in gene editing and genome engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to be independent, self-motivated, as well as work in a highly collaborative setting
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytic skills and great trouble-shooting ability are required
  • Must be passionate about performing research that may lead to the treatment or cure of human disease
